Erpressung der härtesten Sorte! Karl Pilkingtons so genannte Freunde Ricky und Steven wollen den Couch-Potato zu einem Bungee-Jump in Afrika überreden. Und da sie von vorneherein ahnen, dass der Brite kurz vor dem Absprung kneifen wird – wie schon Wochen zuvor in Neuseeland – haben die zwei tief in die Trickkiste gegriffen: Wenn Karl todesmutig in die Tiefe hechtet, spenden Ricky und Steven eine stattliche Geldsumme für wohltätige Zwecke. Dadurch gerät Pilkington natürlich unter enormen Zugzwang! Doch es warten weitere Schmankerl: Karl darf mithelfen, einen umtriebigen Nashornbullen einzufangen, und dann in der südafrikanischen Provinz Mpumalanga einen Stammeshäuptling und dessen Gefolge bekochen. Wer solche Freunde hat, braucht keine Feinde! Davon kann Karl Pilkington ein Lied singen. Der Brite ist der geborene Anti-Held und hat das Draufgängertum nicht gerade mit der Muttermilch aufgesogen. Im Gegenteil, Karl erinnert in seiner Art eher an Homer Simpson aus der einschlägigen Zeichentrick-Serie. Trotzdem schicken ihn seine „Freunde“ Ricky Gervais und Stephen Merchant auf große Weltreise und denken sich dabei haarsträubende Mutproben für ihn aus.
