In Yonderland wird ein Pippelfrucht-Baum entdeckt. Wer sich etwas wünscht und in eine Frucht beißt, bekommt den Wunsch erfüllt. Sogleich stürzen sich die Ältesten wie wild auf die Früchte. Debbie versucht, sie ein bisschen zur Vernunft zu bringen. Und dass obwohl sie zuhause in ihrer Welt eigentlich Abendessen kochen will, während Peter die Kinder ins Bett bringt. Nach einigem Hin und Her muss Debbie aber noch mehr retten: ihre böse Zwillingsschwester Imperatrix ist mit einer Superwaffe unterwegs, um Yonderland mit Gewalt an sich zu reißen.

Die 33 Jahre alte Debbie Maddox ist gelangweilt von ihrem Dasein als Hausfrau und Mutter – bis eines Tages plötzlich ein Elf in ihrem Schrank sitzt und ihr eröffnet, dass sie „die Auserwählte“ sei und die magische Parallelwelt „Yonderland“ vor dem bösen Negatus retten müsse. Widerwillig trifft sich Debbie mit den Ältesten des Reiches – doch diese haben die Schriftrolle verloren, in der die Aufgabe des Auserwählten erklärt wird. Plötzlich sieht sie sich konfrontiert mit unfähigen Rittern, lügenden Mönchen und einfältigen Gestalten, die drauf und dran sind, den Klügsten unter sich in Richtung Sonne zu schießen. Und neben ihren allwöchentlichen Abenteuern muss Debbie rechtzeitig wieder zu Hause sein, um ihre Kinder von der Schule abzuholen …
