Eine Partynacht im September 1998 endet für die 16-jährige Anja Lengnick tödlich: Auf dem Nachhauseweg von ihrer Stamm-Diskothek wartet ihr Mörder, der bis heute nicht gefasst wurde. Auch der gewaltsame Tod von Adem Bozkurt ist noch immer ungeklärt. Der Kleinunternehmer wird 1997 erschossen, das Verbrechen jedoch als Autounfall getarnt. Erst 17 Jahre später kann der wahre Tathergang geklärt werden. Doch vom Täter fehlt jede Spur.
