Als eine gefeierte Tennisspielerin in einem abgelegenen Wald verschwindet, wird Alec gerufen, um sie zu finden und in Sicherheit zu bringen. Doch ein medizinischer Notfall droht Alec aus dem Spiel zu nehmen, so dass Marisa und Rose einen Wettlauf gegen die Zeit beginnen müssen, um die Frau zu retten.

Alec besitzt die besondere Gabe, Personen nur anhand ihrer Verhaltensweisen zu lesen. Er gibt sein Wissen über die menschliche Psyche an der Universität als Dozent weiter. Ebenso unterstützt er die Regierung und das FBI bei ausserordentlich kniffligen Fällen. Erst als er auf einen Menschen trifft, der für ihn kein offenes Buch ist, wird auch Alec auf eine harte Probe gestellt.

Professor Alec Baker (Jesse L. Zusammen mit zwei seiner besten Studenten, arbeitet Baker immer wieder mit FBI-Agentin Marisa (Maahra Hill) zusammen, um Probleme und Konflikte zu lösen.
